The Woman Who Loves Giraffes

The Brief

In 1956, a 23-year-old biologist, Anne Innis Dagg, traveled solo to South Africa to study giraffes in the wild — preceding Jane Goodall and Dian Fossey's famous work. Now 85, Anne retraces her journey using archival letters and original 16mm film, contrasting her pioneering research with giraffes' current plight today.
